Our Story

At The Pet’s Home, we’re not just a boarding and daycare facility but a home away from home for your furry family members. Nestled in the heart of Oswego, IL, our spacious 5000-square-foot facility offers a cage-free environment, ensuring your dog experiences the utmost comfort and freedom.

In 2003, Laura Mae decided to leave her corporate job and pursue her true passion: caring for pets. Laura started simply walking dogs in the surrounding communities. Laura’s uncanny connection with dogs soon spread, and the business grew. Laura soon added boarding in her Plainfield home – her faithful clients liked the idea of their dogs staying in a home environment instead of a kennel. The business grew to the point that in 2018, Laura and her husband, John, bought a second home on 5 acres in Oswego, intending to build a daycare and boarding facility. In February 2023, the facility officially opened to the public.

Since clients always preferred boarding in a “home environment,” Laura designed the new facility to resemble a 3-bedroom, ranch-style home, complete with a kitchen, living, and dining room. We believe in creating an atmosphere that mirrors the warmth of a loving home. Say goodbye to cages and hello to open spaces where dogs can roam, play, and socialize with their canine companions.
